SUGGESTIONS 2030 - Coming Soon

  • Suggestions 2030

Two creatives find solutions and maybe other possibilities as their career changes reunite them in the year 2030.

    Director’s Statement:

1 in 4 Americans identifies as disabled, and Disability intersects with all other demographics, yet we are the least represented in television and film.

We are not a monolith; the entertainment industry often leaves out other disabilities such as invisible disabilities, cane and leg brace users d/Deaf/Hoh/ Blind, Burn Survivors, and many more. If they are included, they are included in stereotypical roles that do not display their vast array of talent.

Suggestions, displays two disabled actors of color in a regular romance/comedy scene to promote authentically adding more stories told from the lived experience. Both actors served as producers. The filmmaker wrote, directed, produced, and was the director of photography.

We look forward to one day seeing more first-look deals and development deals offered to production companies like Shifting Creative Paradigms that seek to create stories that elevate marginalized individuals, especially those individuals that can speak about and represent intersectionality from a lived experience.
